Okazaki City Guide

Tennis courts

Tennis is very popular in Okazaki and courts are numerous in the public parks. Many of the simpler courts are free to use though a reservation is required. You can reserve by telephone or via the computers at the Network Center in City Hall, or the machines at the tennis center in Chou Sogo Koen. As of printing, it isn't possible to book tennis courts through the internet.Midori-ga-oka, Umezono, Okazaki Koen, and Daimon all have courts for free public use. The popular hard courts at Minami Koen require a small fee as do the courts at the wonderful tennis center in Chuo Sogo Koen, which is probably the best place to play.
There are also some private clubs, which is very useful if your schedule prevents you from booking public courts, and an indoor club, which is perfect for winter. For those who wish to carry on to the next level and get lessons or improve on their present game with an instructor, Tennis Club Meiho in Yamatsuna-cho (tel: 48-4928) or Tatsumigaoka Tennis Club in Myodaiji-cho (tel: 53-7809) have such facilities.
